SHAKESPEARE!

So I'm finally getting to do one of the things I've always wanted to. I get to act! I'm very excited. And not only do I get to act, I get to do Shakespeare. Oh yeah. My school's English class is doing Midsummer Night's Dream sometime beginning of next year, and extra guys were needed, so staff read for parts.

Now, my casting I blame entirely on Dr. Warren and four years of choral experience and training. The part I ended up reading for was not the one I expected. It's Flute, a young guy in a group of bumpkins who are going to put on a play at the end of the show. Well, Flute has to play a girl in this love tragedy within a love comedy. I was surprised when asked to read the part, and the students were quick to jump in with boisterous dares and proddings, so ... yeah. I went way over the top with my Choraleers trained falsetto voice, ... and got the part. Who woulda' figured.

So I get to play a guy with a beard just coming in who has to play a seriously melodramatic and badly acted female who kills herself. Let's hear it for Shakespeare! I'm excited, though. I'm looking forward to being more involved with the school, especially with the students. My life should be oh so much fun for the next few months. *chuckle*

P.S. Definitely not the best season to shave most of one's hair off. My scalp isn't cold weather rated. *brr*
