Friday I went to a concert at Anderson College. It was Lee McDerment and "the boys." They are the worship leader and band for New Spring Community Church in Anderson. After having heard about him from a church friend, I checked out his site / blog and found out that that night they were doing an "all out disco, funk extravaganza." I couldn't resist. *grin* It was awesome! A really fun concert. All the players were incredibly talented. I'm not surprised that New Spring has so many people going there. Those guys are just that good! I found myself wanting to go to the church just to see what this band does. Definitely not the best reason to visit a church. Anyway, the played some jam band stuff, a couple 80's covers. Lee alone did a cover of U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name" (I think that was the song), and "Seasons Of Love" from the musical Rent. That was a real surprise. They also did some original stuff. They had everbody clapping and grooving most of the show. For the first number or two, there were a couple of guys dancing around on stage. Wild. They're playing again at the Carpenter's Cellar in Greenville this Friday. I may try to go, or at least drag a friend or two there to enjoy the show.

Picked up a new album! Time for some funk!

Oh! I'm very excited about my latest purchase. I picked up a Batman Begins t-shirt. Just the black bat logo on a dark grey shirt. Why? I'm just really pumped about one of the ideas in the movie - so much so that I had to have the t-shirt to represent how pumped I am about it. Conversation starter and all. Very pumped. As I told my roommate, all I need now is to pair the t-shirt with only the coolest pair of blue jeans on the planet and play a gig. Oh yes.
