DO PEOPLE KNOW THIS?

I heard yesterday that Chad Allen, the actor who played Nate Saint in the recently released film, End of the Spear, is an active, vocal homosexual with his own syncretistic "Christianity." Did you know this? I read this article that includes comment on this ... *coughs* ... issue.

So someone tell me why it was a good idea to cast this guy? I wonder if he's a method actor. How'd that work out for him? ... *sniff*

...

So yeah. Hadn't seen the movie as of yesterday. This doesn't help.

...

Does this bother anyone? (Please. Tag or comment. I'm curious.)

Yeah, I seem to recall hearing that before (I think it was after he was in Dr. Quinn a while back). I am very sorry to hear that End of the Spear doesn't present much of the Gospel--I haven't seen it, and doubted I would. But that was because I heard the story at a Steven Curtis Chapman concert several years back and it hit really hard. Just didn't know if that was something I wanted to see a movie about. But this info just gives another reason. Interesting. And not real great...

The movie was fantastic - one of the best movies I think I've seen. And, no, it really didn't present the Gospel hardcore, but I don't know that a film for the secular world necessarily should present as strongly as the documentary (Beyond the Gates of Splendor) or the book (Through the Gates of Splendor) should.

I was surprised to hear that the guy is a homosexual and disappointed. Although, I was talking to a lady in the church who said that really didn't bother her too much - they were trying to make a good movie, and they did. He was a fantastic actor. But steeped in sin. I don't know how to draw the line there...I mean, the movie company - Every Tribe - was started by Christians. And one little cool tidbit - half of the proceeds from the ticket sales of the movie are going to charity to help other tribes like the Waodoni.
