Hey, everyone. Thanks for all your work this last Sunday. The Lord was gracious and made the actual service much smoother than setup and rehearsal.

FYI - This post may be a tad brief considering I've already typed it once, and Blogger crashed without me being able to save anything. At all. .hmph.

The majority of the notes from this week are for the tech.

SETUP
Setup took a long time this week. I wasn't there for it, but it did seem that we were unclear as to what was and what wasn't to be done for core setup. Core setup guys are responsible for the following:
  • 7:15 - meet and load the trailer
  • Unload at the hotel
  • Run snake
  • Place speakers and run cables to amps
  • Place amps and run cables to snake head
  • Setup video components
After this, I really want core setup volunteers to be able to LEAVE. This job is a huge weight lifted off of the musicians, and with 2 people, shouldn't take more than an hour. It's designed to facilitate getting back home and coming to church with the family. So please make sure you're clear on your responsibilities.

NOTE: I left the patchbay off that list. I want to try having one person set up the stage and monitoring. I'll do it this coming Sunday.

Two notes for SOUND guys. 1) Please make sure that the vocals are up on top of the mix. The lead vocal has been quiet for a couple weeks. Mark's mic sounded quite good in the recordings. He's been working on his mic technique, and it sounds like it's paying off. So let's make sure we get that sound good and present. Don't hesitate to bring up the reverb to soften the vocal out. Makes things more sonically "comfy", just don't forget to dial it back down for speaking. 2) We've got to get channels cued when the musicians are ready to wrap up the greeting time. PLEASE keep an eye up front.

Here are the tracks. Again, please leave any comments. Any. Really. Be the first to comment. First ever!
